Dear Parents/Guardians:
National Parent Involvement Day is recognized by the Abraham Lincoln School. This is a day to celebrate your outstanding contributions to the educational process. I feel extremely privileged to be a part of such an outstanding educational community. The value the city of Bangor places on education is admirable. One of the aspects I admire most about this community is the willingness to support, not only your child, but also all of the children at the Abraham Lincoln School.
As I reflect on the last eight years, I continue to be amazed by the parental support at the Abraham Lincoln School. Our school events are always well attended and we have been able to create a team atmosphere here where we work together to provide for all students. We will have our annual Open House on Wednesday, August 28 from 4:30p.m.-5:30p.m. The Open House will provide an excellent opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and become familiar with the Abraham Lincoln School.
We are excited to continue to build a foundation of communication between teachers and parents at Parent/Teacher conferences which will be held in November. Your willingness to engage in your child’s learning, support and reinforce teacher instruction, and develop a positive school climate are all vital pieces to the mission of achieving academic excellence for all students.
I would be remiss if I did not mention the PTO and all of the great work that they do for the school. I am always so impressed with the excitement generated by PTO events. Thank you for participating in these special moments and we look forward to sharing future school events. The relationships that can evolve through events such as these are something to cherish.
Finally, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for being you! Your efforts and support are very much appreciated. I am confident that our combined effort to ensure the success of all children will lay the foundation for a successful educational experience.
Sincerely,
John T. Tennett Jr.
