Thank you Abraham Lincoln School families for a tremendous start to the 2017-2018 school year! The excitement and energy our families and staff have generated regarding the start of the school year has been contagious and provided an outstanding foundation from which to build upon. The children are adjusting nicely and I need your assistance to continue our momentum.
As the Principal of this outstanding school, I take a great deal of pride and responsibility in our efforts to provide a safe and engaging learning environment for all children. After reviewing our security and safety measures with the Bangor Police Department, I need your help in maintaining a safe environment. Now that we have completed our first two weeks of school and the children are adjusting, I would ask that you adhere to the following to help us regarding student safety.
- Please make sure your child does not arrive prior to 8:40 a.m. We do not have supervision on the playground until 8:40 a.m.
- Once you have dropped your child off with the duty teacher please exit the school grounds immediately. It is important that we enforce this measure so that we are aware of all individuals on our playgrounds and that teachers can safely monitor all children on the playground.
- Please be sure to call if your child will be absent, or late to school. We will work tirelessly to make sure all children are accounted for. If a child is absent we will call all contacts on the emergency list until we verify the absence.
- Please do not bring pets on to school property. We have some children that are unaccustomed to animals.
